I’m sitting here, trying to think of a fun story, or a great way to hype up this recipe that I’m sharing, but I’m completely drawing a blank. And sometimes, that’s ok, right? Sometimes it’s ok to just say, “hey – this recipe is tasty, and you should make it!” So, today I’m leaving out the fluff, and just saying that this is a really tasty dinner recipe. It’s easy, it’s delicious, and you should throw it into your regular dinner rotation.
Sometimes, no fluff is needed, right?
1 lb lean ground beef
8 oz penne noodles (we used the tri-color kind)
3 cups tomato sauce
1/2 cup Italian blend cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
Brown the ground beef over medium high heat, and drain.
While the beef is cooking, boil the pasta according to package directions.
Add the tomato sauce to the ground beef, and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
Drain the pasta and stir into the meat sauce.
Layer half of the pasta mixture in a small baking dish. Top with 1/4 cup of each cheese.
Layer the second half of the meat sauce, and top with the remaining cheese.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes, broiling for the last 2 minutes.
