Sometimes, it’s just nice to have a little snack around the house. Something that’s perfect to set out on a casual game night, throw in your lunchbox on your way to work, or just to have on hand when you want something to munch on.The flavor on this snack mix is a killer combination: sweetness from brown sugar, and a subtle heat from chili powder. Of course, you could always buy a prepackaged snack mix, but it’s much more fun to make your own. You get to customize the flavor, and fill it with your favorite ingredients – that’s a “win-win” in my book.
ingredients:
6 oz peanuts
4 oz provolone Cheez-Its
3 oz plain bagel chips, broken into small pieces
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp chili powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
instructions:
Combine the peanuts, Cheez-Its, and bagel chips in a large bowl.
In a small saucepan, bring the butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, and chili powder to a boil.
Remove the glaze from heat, and stir in the baking soda. Pour over the cracker mix.
Stir to evenly coat the mixture. Line a baking pan with parchment paper, and spread out the snack mixture.
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, to seal in the glaze and lightly toast the mixture.
Cool completely on a wire rack, and then enjoy!
