Gooey Oreo Bars

IMG_6353
Several years ago, I remember seeing something on Pinterest about essentially making Rice Krispie treats, but substituting the Rice Krispies with Oreos, and I thought, “wow, what a brilliant idea!” And then time went on, and it got pushed into the back of my brain, and I almost forgot about the idea completely. Then, a few weeks ago, the idea came back into my mind, and I decided to make them to snack on while watching football.

My mom taught me a super easy way to make Rice Krispie treats back in high school, so I used the same proportions and these bars were the result. If you love Oreos and marshmallows, you definitely need to make these!

Printable Recipe

ingredients:
1 package Oreo cookies
4 tbsp butter
1 bag mini marshmallows

instructions:
Use a food processor to finely crush the Oreo cookies.

Melt the butter in a large pan.

Spray a rubber spatula with cooking spray and pour the marshmallows in with the melted butter. Melt over medium heat, using the spatula to stir the marshmallows until they are fully melted.

Remove the pan from heat and stir in the crushed Oreos, mixing until fully combined.

Line a 13×9 inch pan with parchment paper, and coat with cooking spray. Pour the Oreo mixture into the pan, and allow to cool.

I tried to make these once with the recipe on Pinterest and they were WAY too marshmallowey and wouldn’t even come out of the bowl and you couldn’t get any to eat or anything. So… I should probably just try them again.
