Life Currently

photoBecause it’s fun to take silly pictures when you’re waiting for your open house to start

In the two years since I’ve been writing this blog, I’ve never taken so much time off from posting. I haven’t exactly wanted to not post, but I haven’t exactly been missing it all that much either. You know what I mean? I am ready to get back into it though, so I figured it’d be a good time to do one of those currently posts that all the cool bloggers seem to do, to ease back into blogging. Tomorrow I’ll (finally) post a recipe, and then I should mostly be back on track. Thanks for being patient with me!

reading: Beautiful Day by Elin Hilderbrand. I’m only 12 pages in so far, so I don’t have many thoughts on it yet, but it’s my first time renting an e-book from the library, and it’s pretty cool. I just finished The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty, and I really, really loved it. Read it if you haven’t already!

missing: Clearly Canadian – anyone else remember that delicious sparkling flavored water from the ’90s? It was the best, and sparkling flavored water is my jam lately, so I’ve been especially missing the best kind I’ve ever had, in those classic clear blue bottles. UPDATE: I just did a search for Clearly Canadian, and they might be bringing it back?!? I must find out more about this!

wishing: That TJ and I were going to another Steelers game this year. The Steelers/Panthers game a few weeks ago was SO much fun, and I hate that we won’t get to experience another live NFL game until at least next season.

loving: The cool fall weather we’ve had lately. The 80s are on their way back for the next few days, but I can’t wait to get back to the 40-60 degree range, and I’d be perfectly happy to just stay there forever.

learning: About the wild world of real estate! Almost every day is spent in classes, getting tips from experienced Realtors, or holding open houses. It’s fun and exhausting and so, so exciting.

thinking about: Starting dinner soon (I’m writing this on Wednesday afternoon). I saw a recipe for buffalo chicken lasagna this week, and that’s pretty much TJ’s dream meal, so I’m going to start working on it here soon.

needing: To do some work around the house. It seems when things get busy, house work (and blogging, apparently) are the first things to go. Oops?

watching: Gilmore Girls! I am loving that it’s on Netflix now, and I’ve been working my way through the series before bed, while TJ reads (and secretly watches). I used to watch the reruns after school when I was a teenager, but I never ended up seeing the whole series, so I love that I’ll be able to see it all now.

looking forward to: My birthday on the 20th! I still get crazy excited for my birthday each year, even though it means getting older. I love celebrating the day with TJ and my parents, and just having fun. Plus bonus – the Steelers are playing that day (MNF!), and I can’t think of a better way to end my birthday.

smelling: A Bath & Body Works candle called White Barn No. 3 Renew & Refresh (which smells awesome, by the way)

What’s going on in your life? While I’ve skipped blogging, I’ve skipped reading blogs for the most part too – if you’re happy with a post you’ve written lately, leave me the link! Brag about yourself and give me something to read (see, it’s win-win!)

Thanks, Katie, it feels good to be back! It’s weird how much blogging becomes part of your life – when you don’t do it for a while, things seem weird. Hope you’ve been doing well!

Right?!?! I can’t get enough of it! I really can’t believe it came out so long ago. It definitely doesn’t seem that old while watching it. Hope you’ve been doing well, my friend!

Aw, thanks Laura! I’m SO glad you tried and liked the parmesan fries! If you like potato chips, you’ve got to try my recipe for making them in the microwave. I’ve been totally obsessed with them lately. (Like eating them at least once a week – no shame!) Hope you’ve been having a great week!

How was the lasagna?? I did Buffalo Chicken stuffed shells and I was expecting them to be SOOOO good and they were just meh – I don’t think I liked the pasta with the buffalo chicken!

It’s funny you say that, because I didn’t really like the lasagna either. In theory, it sounded awesome (and so do the shells you mentioned!), but yeah, I wasn’t a fan. TJ liked it, so he’s been enjoying the leftovers, lol. I’ve done buffalo chicken mac and cheese before, and that was good, but I do think you’re on to something with the large amounts of pasta combined with the buffalo chicken or something. Weird. Anyway, I hope you’re having a great weekend, Jules!
