We’ve been traveling over the last two days, and while flying is one of my absolute favorite things, the process of getting from one place to another can often be hectic and draining. In the last 24 hours, we’ve dealt with delayed flights, an unexpected overnight stay in New Jersey, and lots of shuffling around. We finally made it to our destination, despite the bumps along the way, and we’re so excited to be in vacation mode! While we were dealing with the unexpected setbacks, I started making a mental list of small little pleasures in life that deserve to be celebrated. The next time life starts to get hectic, I plan to reflect on this list, and appreciate the little things that make life so enjoyable. Celebrate these little pleasures along with me, and feel free to add your own list in the comments!
- Visible signs of the changing seasons (like the tree blossoming above)
- Staying in the car just so you can finish listening to your favorite song
- Watching snow silently drift down (something we’ve been seeing a lot of since we made it to New York!)
- Sleeping in – even just for an extra 15 minutes
- Coffee that’s hot enough to warm up your insides as it goes down, but not hot enough to burn your tongue
- Good hair days
- Expecting a rerun of your favorite TV show, but getting a new episode instead
- When the seat beside you on an airplane remains empty
- Unexpectedly getting something for free
- Early morning kisses
