Confession Time: I will pick vanilla over chocolate any day. This is not to say that I don’t like chocolate, just that I’ve always preferred vanilla flavored treats – be it in cake, ice cream, or candy form. ‘Tis the season of warm drinks, and this one is perfect for my fellow vanilla lovers. I topped it with peppermint whipped cream and a crushed candy cane, which I think really took it to the next level.

ingredients:
(per hot vanilla)
1 cup milk
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
whipped cream, if desired
crushed candy cane, if desired
1 cup milk
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
whipped cream, if desired
crushed candy cane, if desired
instructions:
Place the sugar in your mug.
Add in the milk, and microwave for 90 seconds.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Top with peppermint whipped cream and crushed peppermints, if desired.
