Do you remember that deodorant/body spray commercial from a few years ago that stated something along the lines of “scent is the strongest sense tied to memory”? I think of it every time I have my own “scent memories”. I love how certain smells are so strongly tied to different events in my life, sometimes so strong that I literally stop what I’m doing, and the memory overtakes me. To me, this is one of the greatest parts of life.
This is the first year that I’ve made this DIY holiday scent, and yet the first whiff of it instantly made me think of Thanksgiving. It brought me back to watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with my dad every single year, back to helping my mom make my grandmother’s bread dressing recipe, back to the year that my parents met TJ’s mom for the first time. These 4 ingredients blend together in the best way, filling your home with holiday memories.

1/2 cup cranberries
3 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp whole cloves
