The Ultimate Road Trip Kit

The Ultimate Road Trip Kit
Since TJ and I have been married, we haven’t been separated for more than the length of a work day. We’ve been lucky that our jobs don’t require us to travel and anytime we go out of town, we go together.

Well, until a few days ago, that is. Since TJ works for himself, he has more freedom on when he can take vacation days, so on Sunday, he drove up to Rochester, New York, to visit his family and friends while I stayed here in Raleigh. We’re reunited now, because I flew up last night, and we’re making the road trip back down to North Carolina in a few days.

To get TJ read for his solo trip, I put together this kit, which is filled with just about everything he might need on the drive. I thought it might help out other people getting ready for summer road trips, so here’s what I stocked it with!

The Ultimate Road Trip Kit
I went to Target (of course) and picked up tons of essentials, and put it all in this mobile seat organizer.

The Ultimate Road Trip Kit
Gatorade, Gatorade chews, fruit snacks, granola bars, and mixed nuts

The Ultimate Road Trip Kit
Ibuprofen, lip balm, mints, and Slim Jims

The Ultimate Road Trip Kit
Antacid, pain relief patches, hand sanitizer, body spray, antibacterial wipes, and tissues

The Ultimate Road Trip Kit
Lotion, notepad, pen, car air fresheners, a card

The Ultimate Road Trip Kit
This awesome little container has a built in trash can.

My favorite part of the kit (and TJ’s favorite too, as he later told me) was a little handwritten note for him to open after he left.

What would you include in a road trip kit? Do you have any road trips planned for the summer?

It does make it super convenient to have additional cup holders! Totally worth the $15, for sure!

I am going on a road trip soon too, with my bestie. Maybe I can get something like this for us too, even though our trip is only about 2 hours away. = ) Would still be fun and nice to not have to stop at the corner store for snacks just as we get on our way.

A best friend road trip will be so fun!! Even for a shorter trip, I’m sure this would definitely still come in handy! Have fun on your trip 🙂

That organizer is perfect! We’re leaving on a road trip next weekend, and I’m going to use something similar to that that we have laying around the house. Also, how cute are you with your little love note?!

such a sweet post!!! I love that seat organizer thing! I recently went on a trip to the coast with my dog and by the end of the trip the entire front floor board was crazy messy. I think next time I will put Hershey in the back seats and put the organizer up front 🙂

First of all, I love that your dog’s name is Hershey – so cute!! Sounds like it was a fun trip, even if it did get a bit messy 🙂
