My 15 Favorite iPad Apps

I’ve had my iPad for a while now, but I always love coming across new apps to download. On the chance that you’re looking for some new apps too, I decided to list out 15 of my favorite apps, in a variety of different categories. If you have any additional app suggestions, please let me know!

entertainment:

Next Issue, Free
Next Issue gives you access to over 80 different magazine subscriptions, all in one convenient location. While this app is free to download, it does require a monthly payment between $10-15 per month, but you can sign-up for a 30-day free trial to see if you like it first! I love having access to all of the newest issues of my favorite magazines, as well as a year of back issues for each one.

Kindle, free
I love, love, love, the Kindle app. It makes it incredible easy to read any book you can imagine. Also, I had a regular Kindle a few years ago, and it was a breeze to transfer all of my old purchases. Once again, this is a free app, but you have to have purchase the books you’d like to read.
IMDb, free
The first thing I do after watching a movie or TV show is look it up on IMDb. I love checking out the trivia section, and reading the message boards to see what other people thought. I might be a bit of a nerd.
This is the ultimate anti-boredom app. It takes you on a journey across the internet, showing you topics, articles, pictures, and websites that match a list of interests that you choose. It’s like a totally customized version of the internet, just for you. I won’t admit how many hours I’ve spent on this app…

games:

Clockwork Brain, Free
I’ve convinced myself that this is less of a game, and more of an educational activity. It consists of a variety of games to help keep your brain in tip-top shape, and they’re pretty fun too.

Cook, Serve, Delicious!, $4.99
There’s nothing educational about this game, it’s just straight-up fun! It’s totally worth the $5 too, but I’d recommend trying their free version before buying the full version. In this game, you start with a crummy little restaurant, and work to build it into a 5-star establishment. So much fun!

sports:

This app is the easiest way for me to keep up-to-date on my favorite sports teams throughout the day. I love that it updates quickly, and I can choose to either look at sports news in general, or tailor it to my favorite teams.
If you happen to be a fellow Steelers fan, Steel Insider is a MUST. It pulls in Steelers-related articles from all around the internet, has the schedule for the season, and an updated roster.

other:

Mint, Free
This app makes it so easy to keep up with your finances. It links together all of your bank accounts, credit cards, and investments in one place, so you can see everything all at once. You can also set up a budget, and the app will help remind you to stay on track.

iFontMaker, $6.99
Making your own fonts couldn’t be easier using this app! Using a stylus, you make your way through the alphabet, writing out each letter, number, and symbol. When you’re finished, you simply download the font, and use it.

Skyscanner, Free
Skyscanner makes it incredibly easy to see the cheapest flight option for any trip you’re looking to book. You’ll never again have to wonder if you’re making the best flight choice – this app does all the work for you.

Cuptakes, $0.99
This app has really cute wallpaper and calendars for your iPad home and lock screens. It’s updated monthly with seasonal styles, so there’s always something to catch your eye.

UPad, $4.99
This app is so great for taking handwritten notes. The handwriting is really accurate, and there’s an adjustable space to rest your wrist while writing. You can also export your documents to PDF or PNG formats, which is really convenient. This app is worth every penny!

Chrome, Free
Chrome is my browser of choice when I’m on my computer, which is why I love it so much on my iPad. With the app, I have access to all of my bookmarks, which makes for a seamless browsing experience, regardless of the device I’m using.

And finally….

for the man in your life:

Infinite Flight, $5.49
TJ requested a spot on this list for his favorite iPad game – Infinite Flight. He tells me that it’s an incredibly realistic flight simulator game, with a wide variety of different planes you can fly. Looks like fun!
