Cinnamon Roll Breakfast Bake

Cinnamon Roll Breakfast Bake
In my family, we do almost as much celebrating on Christmas Eve as we do on Christmas. I think the build up of excitement as the night goes on helps to make Christmas Day feel extra special. We have a few traditions to help celebrate the day, like watching classic movies (Home Alone 2 and A Christmas Story, anyone?), snacking on pizza for dinner, and listening to my dad read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas before going to sleep. One tradition we’ve never had in our family is a special breakfast on Christmas morning. We usually just grab something quick so we can spend time checking out our new gifts, and helping to prepare items for Christmas dinner. This cinnamon roll breakfast bake is so delicious though, that we just might need to make room for a new tradition in our family.

ingredients:
4 tbsp melted butter
2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
5 eggs
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup maple syrup

instructions:
Pour the melted butter in the bottom of an ungreased 13×9 inch baking dish. Separate the 16 cinnamon rolls, and set aside the icing for later use. Cut each cinnamon roll into 8 pieces.

Place the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish.

Place the eggs in the bowl of a stand mixer, and beat thoroughly.

Add the cream, cinnamon, and vanilla to the egg mixture.

Beat until thoroughly combined.

Pour the mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces.

Drizzle the maple syrup over the top of the dish.

Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Warm up the icing according to the package, and drizzle over the top.Cinnamon Roll Breakfast Bake
