Simple Sugar Cookies

I know that chocolate chip cookies tend to be the fan favorite, but I’ve always been especially fond of basic sugar cookies. Like the kind you can find in a grocery store bakery. They’re so simple and just full of that delicious butter and sugar flavor, and to me it doesn’t get much better than that.

This is a recipe that my mom came across about 5 years ago, and I had kind of forgotten about it over time. We had dinner plans with my parents about a week and a half ago, so I thought I’d surprise her by making them, and I fell back in love with them all over again. I’ve halved the original recipe here, but feel free to make the original size to get about 30 cookies. If you’re looking for a basic and delicious sugar cookie recipe, you can’t go wrong with this one!

Mmmmm I’m a sucker for sugar cookies too. My mom always makes home made ones that are to die for. I think her recipe is pretty similar to yours. Pretty soon I’ll be helping her roll and decorate some for Halloween!
