Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wings

Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wings
Some things just go together: peanut butter & chocolate, popcorn & movies, me & TJ… and don’t forget about possibly one of the greatest combinations of all time – football & wings.
These chicken wings take it one step further by incorporating another classic pair – sweet & spicy flavors. Guys let me just tell you, these wings are AWESOME. Like, “your football team is losing but you’re not that upset because the wings you’re eating are that good” awesome.  Ok, not quite, but these would make a pretty good consolation prize (after all – 16 teams will have a losing record after tomorrow night, and for half of NFL fans out there, that’s going to sting).

ingredients:
1 bag frozen chicken wings
1/4 cup brown sugar
2  medium green onions, chopped
1  can (12 oz) Sprite
1  can (4.5 oz) chopped green chiles, drained
1  package hot taco seasoning mix

instructions:
In a skillet, over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, green onions, green chiles, and taco seasoning mix.

Add in the Sprite…

…and bring to a boil.

Let the glaze simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

Put the wings in a large bowl, and pour the glaze over it .

Stir, so that the wings are completely covered by the glaze.

Place the wings on a baking sheet covered with foil.

Spoon half of the leftover glaze over the wings.Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wings

Bake at 400 for about 30 minutes. Turn halfway through, and spoon the remaining glaze on the wings.
